Human–Machine Interaction in Driving Assistant Systems for Semi-Autonomous Driving Vehicles

چکیده

Currently, the existing vehicle-centric semi-autonomous driving modules do not consider driver’s situation and emotions. In an autonomous environment, when changing to manual driving, human–machine interface advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are essential assist vehicle driving. This study proposes a that considers emotions enhance ADAS. A 1D convolutional neural network model based on multimodal bio-signals is used applied control vehicles. The possibility of confirmed by classifying four scenarios controlling speed vehicle. experiment, using simulator hardware-in-the-loop simulation equipment, we confirm response system 351.75 ms recognizes eight through bio-signal data.

A ’Cognitive Driving Framework’ for Collision Avoidance in Autonomous Vehicles

The Cognitive Driving Framework is a novel method for forecasting the future states of a multi-agent system that takes into consideration both the intentions of the agents as well as their beliefs about the environment. This is particularly useful for autonomous vehicles operating in an urban environment. The algorithm maintains a posterior probability distribution over agent intents and belief...

Toward More Realistic Driving Behavior Models for Autonomous Vehicles in Driving Simulators

Autonomous vehicles are one of the most, if not the most, encountered elements in a driving simulator. Their impact on the realism of the simulator is critical. For autonomous vehicles to contribute positively to the realism of the hosting driving simulator, they need to have realistic appearance and, possibly more importantly, realistic behavior. This paper addresses the problem of modeling re...

Evaluation of semi-autonomous convoy driving

Autonomous mobility technologies may have applications to manned vehicle convoy operations—they have the ability to enhance both system performance and operator capability. This effort examines the potential impact of introducing semi-autonomous mobility [Convoy Active Safety Technologies (CAST)] into manned vehicles. Twelve civilians with experience driving military vehicles in convoy-type ope...

An Algorithm for Supervised Driving of Cooperative Semi-Autonomous Vehicles (Extended)

Before reaching full autonomy, vehicles will gradually be equipped with more and more advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), effectively rendering them semi-autonomous. However, current ADAS technologies seem unable to handle complex traffic situations, notably when dealing with vehicles arriving from the sides, either at intersections or when merging on highways. The high rate of accidents...

A computational model of driving for autonomous vehicles

Driving models are needed by many researchers to improve traffic safety and to advance autonomous vehicle design. To be most useful, a driving model must state specifically what information is needed and how it is processed. Such models are called computational because they tell exactly what computations the driving system must carry out; To date, detailed computational models have primarily be...
